To further our airline’s growth, we seek a highly skilled and experienced revenue management expert to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing revenue management strategies that maximize revenue generation and profitability.

  1. Objectives

The primary objectives of this engagement are to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue management strategy for Lao Airlines.

  • Optimize pricing and inventory control across all routes and fare classes.

  • Forecast demand and adjust pricing and capacity accordingly.

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify revenue opportunities.

  • Improve revenue management processes and systems.

  • Develop a detailed workflow instruction manual on revenue management processes and system utilization for staff.

  • Train and mentor Lao Airlines staff on revenue management best practices.

  1. Scope of Work

The revenue management expert will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement a data-driven revenue management strategy aligned with Lao Airlines’ overall business objectives. This will include defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and establishing targets for revenue growth, load factor, and yield.

  • Pricing Optimization: Analyze historical data, market trends, and competitor pricing to develop optimal pricing strategies for different fare classes and routes. Implement dynamic pricing models where appropriate.

  • Inventory Control: Effectively manage seat inventory to maximize revenue and minimize spoilage. Develop strategies for overbooking and revenue protection.

  • Demand Forecasting: Develop and refine demand forecasting models to accurately predict future demand and adjust pricing and capacity accordingly.

  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities and threats. Develop strategies to respond effectively to competitive pressures.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on revenue performance, key metrics, and market trends. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for action.

  • System Optimization: Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing revenue management systems and tools. Collaborate with IT to implement necessary changes.

  • Workflow Instruction Manual Development: Create a comprehensive workflow instruction manual, detailing all revenue management processes, system usage, and best practices. This must be written in a manner that is easy for current staff to understand and follow.

  • Training and Mentoring: Provide training and mentorship to Lao Airlines staff on revenue management best practices and the use of relevant systems and tools.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, network planning, and operations, to ensure alignment and maximize revenue generation.

  1. Deliverables

The revenue management expert will be expected to deliver the following:

  • Comprehensive revenue management strategy document.

  • Pricing and inventory optimization strategies.

  • Demand forecasting models and reports.

  • Competitive analysis reports.

  • Regular performance reports and presentations.

  • Recommendations for system improvements.

  • A detailed workflow instruction manual for revenue management processes and system utilization.

  • Training materials and documentation.

  1. Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics, or Mathematics. A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue management, preferably within the airline industry.

  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles, techniques, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in using revenue management systems and tools (Lao Airlines is using PROS RME)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in the Asia-Pacific region is a plus.

  • Duration: 3 Years and extendable

  • Location: Vientiane, Laos

  1. Reporting

The revenue management expert will report to the deputy director of the commercial and marketing department at Lao Airlines.
